Attacks on America
Posted September 11, 2006
It was December 7, 1941, when I heard on my parent's radio that Pearl Harbor had been bombed by Japan. I was just a little over 9 and a half years of age. I was blessed to have had a grandfather (Frank Miller, Diamond, Missouri) that was a keen student of politics. None of my family was surprised that World War II broke out. We were however surprised somewhat how it began. The attack occurred in Hawaii. The Davidson's had some faith in God. They encouraged all of us that everything would turnout all right. I thank God we were victorious in the war.
On September 11, 2001, I was driving to see Lisa and I heard on the radio that one of the towers of the World Trade Center in New York City, had been hit by perhaps a small airplane. I arrived at her house and as we were sitting on the couch, we watched smoke coming from one of the towers. We watched as the second airplane flew into the second tower. In a very short time, we could see smoke coming from the windows. Lisa and I sat there and discussed what this could mean. I knew in my spirit this was not just an accident, then we heard something had hit the Pentagon. We were not afraid but knew something was happening that we could not explain. Sometime later, as we sat their watching and praying and discussing between us the events, the first trade center building collapsed. We knew by now something serious was taking place. In a few minutes, the second tower collapsed. We all know now that America was attacked by evil men that wanted to stop this nation from proclaiming the gospel to the world.
God bless you,
